Tarot Reading vs Psychic Reading: What Is the Difference?

Most sites list "psychics" and "tarot readers" side by side. They overlap, but they are not the same thing. Knowing the difference helps you book the right session.

Tarot reading

The reader shuffles a 78-card deck, lays out a spread and interprets the cards in relation to your question. The cards are a structured way to look at a situation – past influences, present position, likely direction. Many tarot readers are not psychics in the intuitive sense: they are skilled interpreters. Tarot works well for decisions and "what should I consider" questions. On video you see the spread; on chat and phone it is described to you.

Psychic (clairvoyant / intuitive) reading

No tools. The advisor relies on impressions – images, feelings, words that come to them about your situation. Sessions are more free-flowing and depend heavily on the individual advisor. Good for open questions ("what is coming for me at work?") and for people who want a conversation rather than a structure.

Medium reading

A medium aims to pass on messages from people who have died. This is a different skill from clairvoyance, and the best mediums are specialists. Readings tend to be emotional; book one when you are ready, not in the first week of a loss. See our medium page for the services with dedicated medium sections.

Astrology and horoscopes

Based on your birth date, time and place rather than intuition. An astrologer reads your chart and the current transits. Useful for timing questions and personality insight; it is the most "analytical" of the four.
